On July 14, 2020, the State Department announced that some U.S. Embassies and Consulates will resume routine visa services soon. Unfortunately, the State Department is unable to provide a specific date for when each mission will resume specific visa services.
In March 2020, U.S. Embassies and Consulates suspended routine visa services worldwide due to the worldwide pandemic. The suspension affected immigrant and non-immigrant visa services and appointments. However, the U.S. Embassies and Consulates continued to assist U.S. citizens.
As of today, it is impossible to predict which U.S. Embassies or Consulates will reopen first. The Department evaluates the local conditions before reopening their Embassies and Consulates to the public.
