Migration Resource Center (MRC) celebrated its 3rd annual benefit dinner at the end of February 2019. It was a wonderful event that brought clients, staff, friends and community members together. This was an opportunity to acknowledge and appreciate all those who contributed to MRC establishment and development throughout the last four years. We were honored to be joined by Rubeina Cortez, an MRC client who shared her story [see “One Immigrant’s Personal Story” article] of coming to and starting a new life in the United States of America. Ms. Cortez’ experience inspired guests to contribute through Mobile Cause and raise more money to support MRC’s work of helping single immigrant mothers. This was really an amazing moment.
The event was special through another memorable action. Honoring our Grant Writer, Sue Burns was an inspirational and humbling event of the night. Sue is a valuable member of the MRC team and she deserves the full recognition given for her work and dedication.
Our cultural program was astonishing. Albanian singer, Mira Konci, entertained all of us with beautiful songs both in English and Albanian. Celebrating diverse cultures of New York City is never out of fashion.
We are already in the mode of planning the 4th annual benefit dinner and you all are invited! Stay connected with Migration Resource Center to receive updates on the upcoming event. We hope to see you there!
Meanwhile, we will continue to work hard every day to create opportunities for new Americans to integrated in the society and to establish themselves legally in the country. If you support our work, we ask you to consider donating to Migration Resource Center. Every penny can make a difference. Help us continue providing the legal and educational services necessary for our low-income and immigrant community members to thrive here in the U.S. in 2019 and beyond. Thank you!
