Help Us Continue For The Next 5 Years
Donors to our 5 Years +1 Anniversary Campaign will help us continue our immigration legal services and pursue additional tax services targeted toward lower-income immigrants, individuals, families and small businesses - all designed to help us achieve another 5 years of impact.
Donors to Enduring Impact may contribute to any of our three campaign priorities—all of which are explicitly designed to lay a strong foundation for another five decades of impact in our community.- Immigration Legal Services: Your funds will help us continue providing reduced fee immigration legal services for low-income individuals, families and local businesess.
- Tax Preparation Services: Your generous contributions will allow us to provide staff education and licensing required to prepare taxes for low-cost or free tax preparation services for low-income immigrants, individuals, families and small businesses in the community.
- Tax Resolution Services: Provide funding to aquire qualified staff (e.g., CPA, Enrolled Agents) and staff training required to help low-income immigrants, individuals and small businesses with affordable tax problem resolution and issues with the IRS.
You Are Our History
As someone who has been helped by Migration Resource Center, you can count yourself among a special group of people who have overcome an immigration issue, and now are reunited with yor family or able to pursue your life without fear or anxiety. And for our employees, volunteers and donors you can be assured that you have played an important role in helping someone overcome and achieve a better life and more stable future. We hope the experiences you had while working with us were valuable to you and will last a life time. Below are the stories shared from your fellow Migration Resource Center clients, volunteers and partners. Make sure you add your own!
- A mother of 4 fled the persecution and violence of her home country to seek asylum and a better life for her children in the US. It was a very complex case and Migration Resource Center accompanied her, guiding and advising her through every step. She is now a very proud Legal Permanent Resident and no longer has constant fear and anxiety for the safety of her children.
- A man, who came to the US as a minor needing medical treatment for a serious health issue, stayed to help his family back home. He earned his GED, found steady employment, and married a US Citizen. All along, he tried to become a Legal Permanent Resident, but unscrupulous lawyers took his money and produced no results. A social worker referred him to Migration Resource Center and within a few months, he had his green card. Now his wife and children no longer have to worry that he might not return home to them.
- A divorced woman and her two children came to the US on an Extraordinary Ability visa as a recognized makeup artist. As a result of our representation for her adjustment of employment status, she was able to open her own beauty salon in New York City, providing stability for herself and her children as well as a new employment opportunity in the neighborhood.
